Les Able
The Velvet Lobster
Public Relations Director, mover and shaker
Offline PR, crisis management, media training, lunching

An ex-Fleet Street journalist and City Editor, Les fell into it the murky world of PR by accident. Coming from the racy, high pressured newspaper environment, he welcomed the expected change of pace only to find that his perceptions were horribly wrong ? especially when he headed up the Westminster City Council PR contract... Using all his journalistic guile and inbuilt ability to see news from both sides, Les helps our clients get the most from their newsworthy stories. Relationship builder, writer of Hieroglyphics (he calls it shorthand!), creator of newsworthy copy, client consultant and ambassador of the working lunch, Les is our luminescent literary lothario!

Outside of work Les is a frequent traveller of the Irish Sea as he never really likes standing still. In fact, out of hours he can be found on the move keeping fit whilst barely sweating perspiring. One sentence says it all... He is a person who has reached the state of perfection and has equanimity towards the vicissitudes of life. Les will have to tell us what that sentence means!
